Legislative - Conservation - Preservation

Member of North Dakota Sportfishing Congress (NDSFC) - The NDSFC is the fisherman's independent representative at the state and federal level. We offer support to the NDSFC who represents the interests of fisherman at local, state and the federal meetings. LRAA helps to support an independent lobbyist to work for the fisherman's interests at the State Legislature each biennium. LRAA works with NDSFC with communications to our state legislators in support of laws favorable to and to work against potential laws that could adversely affect the fisheries in North Dakota and the interests of anglers.

Work closely with the North Dakota Game and Fish Department on strategies to prevent the spread of Aquatic Nuisance Species and supporting the North Dakota Fish Hatchery.

Represent angler's interests through communication with the Ramsey County Water Board, the Joint County Water Board and the US Fish & Wildlife Department. Projects include opening ice fishing on Lake Alice and with the Billings Lake Subcommittee addressing issues that affect sport fishing in the Lake Region. Active with North Dakota Game & Fish on educating public on the negative effect Aquatic Nuisance Species would have on Devils Lake and our area resources.

LRAA was chosen by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department to have a representative from our organization to assist them on the state of North Dakota's Fishing Tournament Organizing and Sanctioning Committee.

The Lake Region Anglers Association was inducted into the North Dakota Fishing Hall of Fame in 2017.
